Fang Yang, Ph.D., is the master supervisor as well as associate researcher at Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Physics and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Marburg, Germany, where he has won the DAAD Award for Excellent Doctoral Student and the Marburg University Award for Excellent Master's Thesis. So far, he has published more than 50 SCI papers, including Nano Today, Biomaterials, Materials Horizons, Small, ACS Nano, Angewandte Chemie, etc., of which 40 are first/corresponding (including co-authors). He also applied for 38 invention patents and 17 were authorized, including 1 US patent and 1 European patent. He is current a member of Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS, international members of the European Cooperation In Science & Technology (E-COST) and of the Action CA19118 ESSENCE program. Besides, He was a visiting professor at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania and a visiting associate professor at the University of Oslo, Norway and was awarded as 2022 Emerging Investigators by the Journal of Materials Chemistry B. He is a reviewer for ACS Nano, the Advanced Healthcare Materials, the Journal of Nanobiotechnology, Nanoscale, and other prestigious journals. Dr. Yang is committed to the development of novel functional nanomaterials, their physical and chemical properties and biological applications, and based on the biological effects of nanomaterials, he built a dynamic real-time quantitative detection and analysis system for cytotoxicity. And he has successfully mentored (including co-supervised) over 20 Chinese and international graduate students, many of whom have been awarded scholarships at national, provincial (ministerial), municipal, and university levels, as well as received the "Three Good Student" honor (a comprehensive merit award). Several graduates have continued their academic pursuits abroad.
